KOMA

KOMA MODULAR s.r.o. manufactures residential, sanitary, special and low energy modules. Its affiliations include KOMA Rent s.r.o. with branches in Prague, KOMA Slovakia s.r.o. with headquarters in Nitra and KOMA Space GmbH with registered address in Vienna. The original and only owner is Mr. Stanislav Martinec. The average annual KOMA output is 2,500 modules, 80% of which are sold abroad. 

KOMA MODULAR specialises in modular construction. The KOMA system was implemented in EU Member States, Norway, Switzerland, in the Middle East, in the Russian Federation, in the Balkans as well as in Mexico, Mongolia or India, to name but a few of the localities.

KOMA is registered as a supplier to the UN - the UNGM Registration Number is 103612, as well as a supplier to UNDP, UNHCR, UNICEF, UNIDP, UNOPS, UNPD, UNRWA and WFP agencies. Moreover, KOMA is registered as a residential containers supplier to NATO and the NAMSA agency.

The company regularly organises architectural competitions focusing on modular construction for civil engineering and architecture students and it operates several patents and utility models.

The company possesses certificatescovering the quality management to ISO 9001:2008, certified by the international certification company Bureau Veritas. Moreover, the company holds TÜV's product ÜBEREINSTIMMUNGSZERTIFIKAT certificate issued by LGA Nuremberg. The same certification company issued the company's welding certificate. Moreover, it owns certificates confirming fire resistance, sound proofing, static loading and heat properties.

In 2000 it awardedwas awarded the Golden Medal at the IBF International Building Fair in Brno for its spatial module, and in 2008, it received an honourable mention at the International Building Fair Coneco 2008 in Bratislava, under the Golden Plaque competition, for its module with removable walls and partitions. At the CONECO 2010 international building fair, the company was awarded the Golden Plaque for the exhibited low energy module and the Golden Leonard, for an attractive exhibition stand, which was in the shape of a low-energy studio. The same year, the company earned an honourable mention at the International Building Fair, IBF 2010, in Brno, under the Golden Medal competition. A year before that, the company received an honourable mention under the Zlín Region's Innovative Company competition. The same year, 2010, KOMA emerged victorious from the same competition and in 2012, it got the silver medal again. KOMA also earned an honourable mention under the nationwide Innovation of the Year 2012 competition.

In view of its excellent economic results and compliance with payment discipline, in 2013 the company was rewarded with the Top Rating assessment from the internationally renowned company D&B. At the end of the same year, the company won a tender to supply the Czech Republic’s pavilion for the world EXPO 2015 in Milan, a building which would go on to win the bronze medal for architecture. In 2015, KOMA received a range of other awards, was ranked among the 100 best Czech companies in the category INVENTION- APPLICATION - EXPORT – PROFIT, and took the title Company of the Year 2015.
