Glass factory for Suqian

The Suqian City Government in China turned to a request for technical assistance and cooperation with the ČSOK regarding the realization of a blown glass exposure and chandeliers for the newly-built glass museum.

Suqian City has launched a comprehensive reconstruction of the closed glass factory, which once produced sheet glass into a multifunctional exhibition of glass art. On an area of 17,000 square meters of exhibition space, visitors will be able to get acquainted with the history of glass production and the art of glass masters. The Czech Republic is known in the world for its centuries-long tradition of glass production and artistic glassmaking, and therefore it is anxious that a separate Czech exposition will be installed in Suqian. However, it will not be a stationary presentation in the form of exposition of finished art, but vice versa. Suqian is interested in live production demonstrations right in front of the visitors of the museum.

That is why the chamber joined with one of the leading Czech glass masters and artists Jiří Pačínek, from whom Suqian is preparing a demanding project of glass blown glass. There will also be a glass furnace where Czech glass masters will showcase the art and secrets of producing Czech blown glass.

The accompanying photos include footage from the studio of Jiří Pačinka, during discussions with the representatives of ČSOK about the project in Suqian. And demonstrations of the art of glass masters.
