The official reception of the President of CSOK and Professor Karel Rais, deputy and vice-chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Research at His Excellency, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China, Mr. Zhang Jianmin, who recently joined the Czech Republic, was officially admitted.
The Ambassador's priority, according to his words, is to support the program of Chinese students in the Czech Republic when handing over credentials. And this was the main reason for the meeting of representatives of the Czech Chamber and Parliament with the new Ambassador of China.
The Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the parliamentary committee for education, science and research program deals about bringing Chinese students to the Czech Republic for many years. In the last parliamentary term, the program for establishing contacts with Chinese universities was chaired by a chamber for direct support and the participation of the then deputy chairwoman of the Committee on Education, Science and Research Vlasta Bohdalová, who today serves as the vice-president of CSOK for the same agenda. Currently, Prof. Karel Rais is a long-term partner for the Parliament of the Czech Republic.
The Ambassador of the PRC listened with great attention to the activities of a joint working group composed of a chamber, parliamentarians and Czech universities such as the Brno University of Technology or the University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, which concern China.
The Chamber, in co-operation with the Xuzhou City Government, is preparing for the fourth highest-level meeting this November.
The main aim of the meeting is to start a program of Chinese students studying at Czech universities.
The Chinese Ambassador and Director of the Embassy Education Department have confirmed their maximum support for the Chamber plan and promised all possible assistance.
Finally, the participants agreed on a system of further cooperation and other workshops.
