The current poor condition, which the Brno Trade Fairs and Exhibitions found themselves, not through their own fault, but through the effects of quarantine anti-epidemic measures, has motivated efforts by the CSOK management to help and support the BVV.
BVV cannot organize any of its traditional exhibitions and fairs for several months yet. The last hit to Czech exports and industry was the cancellation of the International Engineering Fair in Brno.
If the Brno Trade Fairs and Exhibitions were to fall, it could couse significant damage with a negative economic impact not only on Brno itself, but on all Czech exports.
The President of the Chamber took part in a meeting with the General Director of the BVV, which was organized and led by a Member of Parliament, Prof. Karel Rais. The content of the meeting concerned specific steps leading to the solution of mentioned problems and assistance to BVV.
This activity was followed by a meeting of the Member of the Czech Parliament, Prof. Karel Rais, accompanied by the President of the Chamber, with the President of the Czech-Moravian Confederation of Trade Unions Mr. Josef Středula. One of the topics discussed was also the search for wais for involvement of the CMKOS in the project "We want to save the Brno fairs".
