The company SATRA, spol. s r.o. provides services in the area of design, consultancy and engineering activity. It was formed in 1991 from the core of the sixth studio of the Military Design Institute in Prague. Since the beginning, emphasis has been placed on underground structures, especially technology-intensive ones. Over almost twenty years of its existence, SATRA, spol. s r.o. has realized contracts for big domestic and foreign investors, particularly for civil service and local government authorities. The most important long-term clients are the Capital City of Prague and the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic.
Since our foundation in 1991, we have built on the idea that high-quality work requires perfect technical equipment, theoretically competent and capable experts with interest in the specialization and a matching work environment. The aim of our activity is a high quality work. Throughout the period of its implementation we focus our initiative and effort on this goal. In the realization of contracts we seek to use an active approach. We always provide as comprehensive services as possible, with emphasis on a high quality level. To us, a contract is more than a business case; we perceive our work as a commitment to the successful completion of a construction. Our work does not end with the project submission but only after the final approval and commissioning of the work.
The company takes significant part in the preparation and implementation of constructions of the superordinate communication network in Prague. It was the co-ordinator of the construction and technological part during the completion and gradual commissioning of the Strahov car tunnel, and, subsequently, the designer of the excavated parts and technological equipment of the Mrázovka Tunnel. At present, SATRA, spol. s r.o. is the co-ordinator of the design preparation and designer of the City Ring in the section Malovanka – Pelc-Tyrolka of the Blanka Tunnel complex. It participates in the projects of the eastern part of the City Ring and the Libeň Connection, Radlice Radial Road and other significant transport constructions not only in the capital city.
However, the range of references of SATRA, spol. s r.o. over the past twenty years is much wider. Thanks to ontinuity with the activity of the Military Design Institute, we have several specialists in our team who have participated in the design of Prague Underground including the protection system or in the preparation of special army installations. In addition, let us name the Panasonic plant in Pilsen, the general reconstruction of the Czech Radio headquarters, the reconstruction of the General Staff headquarters in Prague and the completion of the construction of the Prague City Archives. The contract portfolio also includes special constructions such as Prague collectors, the construction of the Czech National Bank Backup Centre, a series of contracts for the Defence Department, the new Multifunctional Operational Centre Malovanka or the processing of safety documentation of most road tunnels in the Czech Republic.
